IT Infrastructure Deployed at EV Equipment Maker

Blink Charging Co., a leading manufacturer, owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services engaged DataLink to build out its IT infrastructure at its 15,000-square-foot global HQ in Bowie, MD.

Blink has designated Maryland as its central hub, leveraging its proximity to Washington, DC. DataLink’s local experts met with the client’s technical staff to discuss the cabling, wireless, and camera requirements to formulate an implementation plan.

The project’s scope included:

  • Full rack and cable tray build-out, which DataLink accomplished with infrastructure hardware from Chatsworth Products.
  • Superior Essex cabling for 70+ single drops from the server room to termination points throughout the HQ facility.
  • At each drop location, DataLink used termination hardware from ICC.
  • Deployment of Wireless Access Points and Digital Watchdog surveillance cameras throughout the facility.

The success of the project was due to the professional collaboration between St. John Properties and DataLink’s technical teams, which resulted in the design and deployment of the IT infrastructure on time and within budget.

Blink also plans to construct a new LEED Gold-certified 30,000-square-foot production facility, which will include an extra production line to streamline operations, as well as expedite and increase production of EV charging units.

Whether you need to connect a new building, a renovation, or a campus addition, DataLink is ready to team up with your partners, facilities team, and architect to design, install, test, certify, manage, and maintain the entire IT infrastructure.
