Gaithersburg-based Emergent, a DataLink client, recently won a contract with the U.S. government worth $628 million to manufacture novel coronavirus vaccines. It’s also developing plasma-derived therapies targeting COVID-19.
The company will manufacture vaccines, assisting government efforts to fast-track the vaccine. Emergent has long worked with the federal health agency, BARTA, the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority. Emergent is also collaborating on COVID-19 vaccines with Johnson & Johnson, Novavax, and Vaxart.
As Emergent’s South Baltimore drug product manufacturing facility was being expanded and retro-fitted to expand its fill/finish production and warehouse space, DataLink’s network infrastructure team rebuilt, organized, tagged and certified the cable management system and structured cabling throughout the 45,000 sq. ft facility.
